In the spring, LONJ will produce Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Così fan tutte directed by David Dollase with musical direction by Jason Tramm. Mozart’s classic opera buffa tells the frivolous and absurd tale of four young lovers whose lives are being tampered with by their maid and their older mentor, who guide them down a spiraling path of new love and heartache. The comic antics starkly contrast with some of the most beautiful music Mozart wrote during his short career. Making his LONJ debut with this production, David Dollase is a director, actor, singer, performance coach and writer with over 35 years experience as a professional in the performing arts. In addition to directing plays, musical theater, opera and operetta, David has performed on Broadway, Off-Broadway, on multiple Broadway national tours and appeared in regional theaters across the country as well as several network television series. Making his musical direction LONJ debut, Maestro Tramm serves as Artistic Director and Principal Conductor with the MidAtlantic Opera with whom he made his Carnegie Hall (Stern Auditorium) debut in 2015. He also serves as Music Director of Teatro Lirico D’Europa, a touring professional opera company. Così will be presented in English with orchestra.
