Job Title: Business Manager (Part-Time)

Light Opera of New Jersey seeks a collaborative and strategic Business Manager to oversee the company’s financial and operational leadership during an exciting period of growth.

This part-time consultant position (approximately 20 flexible hours per week) partners closely with the Artistic Director and Board of Trustees to ensure organizational sustainability while supporting high-quality productions and community programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, and reporting
  • Align artistic programming with responsible resource management
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and supervise the Operations Manager
  • Manage venue contracts, ticketing, and production logistics
  • Support marketing, fundraising, and community partnerships
  • Ensure compliance with nonprofit governance best practices

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience in nonprofit or performing arts leadership
  • Strong financial and organizational management skills
  • Collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a small leadership team

Structure & Compensation

This is a flexible, part-time leadership position averaging 20 hours per week, with remote administrative work and onsite presence during productions and events.

Compensation is structured as an initial annual professional stipend in the range of $20,000–$24,000, commensurate with experience.
